My name is Amber Tompkins, and I just purchased my first house with NACA in Morrisfield, North Carolina. It’s really exciting. I didn’t think I would get to this point. Just going through the NACA program is what allowed me to achieve this goal. It was amazing. It was much faster than what I anticipated, but I felt like I had a great counselor who guided me, which is Ellen Petersen. Who definitely walked me through the process, and even I appreciate that she took the time to explain stuff, even when I didn’t understand or I didn’t know what I was doing. I just wanted to make sure I got everything to her. It’s really taught my best to do that, but I appreciate just the patience she had, and I can really tell that she enjoys her job and loves the job. And I just appreciate that. I appreciate having somebody I felt like supported me in the process. Thank you so much.  I didn’t believe it at first. I didn’t understand exactly what it was. But I did find out that the first step in the process was just going to an information session. And so I signed up for that because I figured worst case scenario, I’ll at least get the information and see if it’s true. And it was. And once I got through the four hour meeting, I felt like it was something I could do. And so from there, it was just a matter of getting all the paperwork together.

We were looking for something where our parents could come down and watch our kids because they don’t get to see their grandkids a lot. And so we were really hoping for a bedroom on the first floor with a full bathroom. And that is exactly what we got. We did not think it was possible in the price point that we were looking at. But this house is happening. Come on the market. And it was just like fate happened. You know, the clouds in line, everything just happened. And it was just a perfect house. Thank you so much.
