My name is Sharif Robinson, I’m here in Chicago I just bought a single family home in Chicago and Auburn Gresham neighborhood really nice house 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, fully rehab this year. To me, homeownership means that I get a piece of the pie, piece of my American dream. Also, I got a grant from NHS National Housing Services. I had to attend 2 homeowners classes and those were four hours each. So I went to those, turned into paperwork and that helped me to get the loan documents over to NHS so I can get final grant approval. So they were very helpful with that and the grant was $10,000. NACA was very helpful during this home buyers process. Once again, this is my first time buying a house. My mortgage counselors, Michelle and Alicia Davis, they were very great, very helpful from start to finish. They let me know the action plan that we had to participate in and do. And so they’re very helpful with that. Special shout out to my realtor Angela Beckham. She was very great from start to finish as well. She held my hand through this process. She even did things in the background that she didn’t have to do that she did and I really appreciate her. Another person is Lou Mesa. He was my attorney, very nice person to work with, very helpful as well.
