Ten years ago, as I held my then infant son in my arms, I made a promise to him-that even though I had unexpectedly become a single mother, I would provide the best possible life for him. In my mind, this included growing up in a neighborhood like I’d had – one with trees and smiling faces, plenty of clean open space and happy children for him to play with. I envisioned a neighborhood that would lovingly support him, where he would make friends and be educated at the best schools.  For years, I struggle, living paycheck to paycheck but still with the dream of home ownership to carry me through the roughest financial times.  I diligently paid off debts, clean up my financial mistakes and began saving.  When I first heard about NACA, I was referred to me by someone  whose opinion I trusted-so even though it seemed “too good to be true”- I trusted my friend’s advice.  I attended the first workshop feeling afraid that i wouldn’t possible qualify with my current credit score and limited means.  To my surprise, I was welcome with the courtesy and kindness.  I was patiently guided through each step until I finally reached the finish line!  Now, I will be your friend and tell you that this is for you.  This will be the solid foundation of affordable home ownership that will enable you to fulfill all of your dreams.  This will be the best decision you have made.  And hopefully, in the near future, you will be grateful and joyful that you took the leap of faith and grabbed the hand that NACA extended to you to make your dream come true.
