With an insane amount of debt from my education, I did not believe that I would be able to afford a house anytime soon. In fact, I figured I would be a renter for at least the next 10 years. Then a co-worker told me about NACA. As I did my research, my feelings swung from “I am not sure this will work” to “This is too good to be true.” Now all I can say is that I am glad that I took the leap! It is still a bit surreal to believe that for less than what I was paying in rent in DC, I now OWN a house in nearby Maryland. Thank you NACA! I did not experience some of the rumored slow responses that I hear from people. At every turn I received fast, courteous assistance with a little bit of “tough love” when necessary. Though I may have felt that other forces were acting against me, I always felt and knew that NACA was on my side. Close to closing I found out that another person in my office went through NACA. Her words sum up NACA perfectly when she says, “There is no other program like it that cares about the homeowner.” For this reason I feel the need to consistently refer people to NACA and sing its praises. Again, thank you NACA!!!!!
