After experiencing 3 years of apartment living following retirement and relocation to the Greensboro, NC area, I was lucky enough to learn of the NACA program in the fall of 2014.  I attended an informational meeting at the end of October in Charlotte, NC, and was approved for home purchase in March, 2015, less than 7 days after meeting with my mortgage consultant for the first time. I worked closely with her and gained much insight into the purchase process, especially as I ended up representing myself, working without a realtor. Not a process that I would recommend, but I met many wonderful, helpful people who were very interested and committed to helping me get my home. From contract to closure took 90 days.
I cannot say enough about NACA and highly recommend the program to anyone with even the remotest interest in home purchase. No down payment, no closing costs and the ability to buy down an already below market interest rate could not be beat. The NACA program is available to anyone, regardless of age, ethnicity, income or credit score.  As a senior citizen on a fixed income, I am overjoyed that NACA was there to assist in providing me with an affordable, beautiful new home, comfort and the peace of mind of having my own private space, especially at this stage of my life. If I hadn’t taken a chance, had patience and willingly cooperated with whatever was asked of me, I would not be where I am today.
